Don't get disheartened ....

Why are they telling you to slow down ?.. is it cus you are a genuine pain

in the a%$ or just 'keen'. I admit we can 'overdo' things sometimes so it

may mean 'backing off' a little whilst you get a feel for things to work out

the phsycology behind the operation and then working out the best way to

influence things rather than going in all guns blazing. Do you have a back

to back ?, remember if your making work / clinic changing desicions consult

with your relief rather than them returning to work and finding that you

have changed stuff, even if its just a quick email or phone call. Its' a

'team effort'. Flying solo only pisses people off. Make sure your back to

back is on side. Of course the other thing may be that your working for a

tin pot outfit who really don't give a fig in which case idle threats like

" slow down or you will be slowed down " aren't condusive with a good work

environment in which case your energies should be used in securing a decent

job where your efforts will be appreciated.

Apologies for the crap english and spellings .. it is early !!

Best of luck.

Man

Talk about cutting ones arm & leg

Not much theyr could do clinic wise

As understanding the subtility of the language is half the

battle. Not impossible to do with a translator, but much is

lost.

Training ! ... pretty much forget about it.

Respect and collegiality are greatly impeded

We had Local MD-Medic fights (Spitting & shoving !!!!!)

If you speak the language you can circumvent this

Get your message across well

.... And

Undestand their point of vue

Better done when the same language is spoken

The hard one and why I don't work some places anymore, think of it this way.

If you don't and someone gets injured or killed its your patuty on the

drying rack. Report, Report again, send it up the chain past that guy and to

corporate safety if you have to. But man oh man document it all and get

confirmation on who received it. Read confirmation on email is golden, if

you can get the threats to slow down in email too that's a great one. There

are too many good employers out there to have to work for a bad one.

Hey all,

Well, I am sure most of you know the history regarding the

tin shack I am sitting on. I now seem to be facing the

following problem, and would like some in put from the " old

hands "

I have been doing my inspection (weekly and bi-weekly),

making recomendations, and all the other routine medic

duties. Now I am told the following: " You too proactive in

your duties, slow down or you will be slowed down " .

How do I do it? Continue doing what I was employed to do,

without being " proactive " ? The way I see it, either I do my

job or I don't.

Any ideas ???
