Guest guest
This thread was a big help to me thank you very much. I am ordering some waterproof inkjets today from onlinelabels and some other labels too. I have been printing labels off my HP Photoprinter (D5145) and sometimes it gets a little attitudy and DOESNT want to print what I ask it to. I got my templates from Avery and I am using them in Publisher to make my labels and some labels print some won't. Perhaps it doesn't like to print labels? I don't know of anyone else has this problem but any advice would be much appreciated. There is no particular size it doesn't like, I've played with all the Printer Settings, it will load a page as if it were going to print it then after sitting there for about 5 minutes it spits out a blank sheet and goes back to standby mode. Then I go to print another label and it prints just fine. It does that for both front labels with a picture and back labels with text only. I have spent a whole lot time troubleshooting this thing and I am extremely frustrated. > > Ditto onlinelabels.com for vinyl if you have an ink-jet printer. Guest guest
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mac! I used to use PC's until I had a virus and bought a Mac. Guest guest
well it is pretty easy on a Mac - and less problems than I ever had on my Compaq or Dells. lol Both brands which I spent hours and hours on the help line with hard drive issues that weren't my fault... sooo I can honestly say I enjoy my MAC... lolol it's quite different though and after working on IBM type PC for how many years???!! I am ac tually forgetting how they work! lol when I go to the library I sit there and kind of have to look at the computer for a minute before my brain remembers where everything is. whaaahahaaha --- " R. Guest guest
So the laptops are heavy duty? We keep having virus/ trojan problems with BOTH our PC's no matter what antivirus program (s) we try and I hear MAC is way better because a virus cannot affect your entire system. I'm trying to talk my other half into us getting a MAC laptop. I'm going to forward him some info. Besides isn't it better to get a seperate computer for a business?? lol! Guest guest
lol right - MAC doesn't even consider their power book a laptop - lol But there's no reason not to get a desktop model [which are less expensive usually] unless you want to be able to travel - I knew I was going to be traveling quite a bit when I bot mine ;o) but believe me - I run it ALL day and often night - I hardly every shut it down. And now with bigger RAM and hardrives geez! it's so much cheaper now to get all that extra memory. ;o) W --- Dionne Baldwin <labeautedunefemme@...> wrote:
Guest guest
You can't go wrong with a Mac!!! I have always had a Mac and when I have had to work on a Windows machine I get so frustrated. Macs spoil you. Even my 80+ yo parents use Macs!! I want the new Air Mac (or is it Mac Air?!)--but I'll settle for a Mac Pro laptop :-) I'm still using a Mac Cube I got in 2003. susie
Guest guest
Thats for sure. We have our whole office Mac, (all 3 computers ;-) hooked up to a 1-Terabyte Time Capsule. It is an absolute joy. Wireless, automatic backups every hour on every machine, effortlessly. Its really nice when you want to recall an old recipe that perhaps you saved over thinking that this one is the one, only to find you liked the old version better ;-) Not only that but we use MacBooks, they are awesome because when in the office we plug them into 22 " displays and have and use 2 screens, which is really nice and give you lots of space to work in, and use a wireless keyboard & mouse. Then when you need to go somewhere you just unplug the display etc., etc. and take it wherever you need to go. It is truly a joy. I would never in a million years use Windows again. And anyway, Mac even thought of that. I have windows installed on this computer and I can restart my macbook in windows mode and it is EXACTLY, 100% windows. Ya, I did that maybe 2 times in my life, but it is nice to know if you ever absolutely MUST use windows for something, there it is in your Mac, just with a simple restart and you are in the ugly world of windows. I highly recommend getting a time machine to replace your Airport Extreme (if you have one) If your computer ever bites the dust (which they do) you dont have to rely on your last manual back-up to hard drive or cd. You simply rebuild your new computer from your time capsule latest back-up, which is never longer than 1 hour. So lets say you only back up your computer once a month (if you remember) and on the 28th day your computer seizes up and dies. That means you lost 28 days of work from your last back-up. With Time capsule it backs any changes you made on your computer every hour, so if your computer died, the most you would ever lose is one hour of work. You buy a new computer and rebuild it from your last time capsule back-up and voila, your computer is exactly as it was an hour before it died. Amazing..... can you tell I am impressed??? There is no better more exciting time in history to be using a Mac computer than now. You know what they say " Once you go Mac you never go back. " hehehehehe Have a great day, R. Guest guest
I just wanted to give an update and say THANK YOU. My computer is fairly old and we are looking for a PC 100 memory stick. So...I'm using one of our other computers and I connected to our printer, used the template that actually works (not downloaded from Avery) and it all worked s m o o t h l y. I'm staring at my perfectly and timely printed labels grinning! Everything went smooth tonite. I'm a happy girl! Re: more about labeling products You can't go wrong with a Mac!!!
