Guest guest
i'm having a hard time figuring out what type of food to eat before i workout. i do 20 mins cardio and 20-30 mins weight lifting. one day, i ate a muffin w/ some butter a few hours before my workout and had a ton of energy. i tried it again and was really sleepy the next time. my goal is to have good energy during the workout. sometimes i'm just so sleepy...and so can't get as much out of the workout. today i had a muffin w/ butter, a raw egg yolk, a banana and a glass of kefir. that was about an hour and a half ago and i'm really sleepy now. it seems like the more I eat healthy foods, the less tolerance i have for too much sugar/carb at one meal. any ideas on what to eat in order to have good energy during a workout, and how much time prior to the workout to eat it? Also, are there certain things you should eat *after* a workout to help build muscle? I'm usually hungry after a workout and typically have high fiber crackers and raw cheese, and often a beer. probably not the best thing after a workout, huh? Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc.
