Guest guest
Liz, Great to hear from you! Give that new one a hug for me too, K?! Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I sure hope things get better for you soon. You'll be back to yourself in no time, along with your workouts, I'm sure. I know what ya mean tho. I haven't been to good at anything lately, either. I'm hoping this next week I'll be able to get with it again like I should. Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
Thanks Kiki!!!! I just need a vacation... with everything that's been going on in the last couple of months with Steve's dad and my brother being sick. Then Steve's dad passing away and all the traveling back and forth to Indiana along with me fighting a cold / sore throat thing. Then I started taking care of baby Lee so I'm just tired, I'm already looking forward to having a break during Thanksgiving week. That's pretty pathetic isn't it????? Gripe, murmur and complain... enough already.... I'm going to bed. :-) Love ya!!! Liz On Fri, 15 Oct 2004 23:55:17 EDT KikiDee11@... writes: Liz, Great to hear from you! Guest guest
Hi Lizzy Thinking of you ! It is amazing when you are out of practice how much work is in a baby Have a relaxing weekend Blessings R Hi Hi Everyone, It's so great to see some action on our list. I've been very busy, I'm taking care of a new baby and he's a handful and a half. :-) I haven't felt the greatest for a couple weeks now, a lot of it has to do with exhaustion and now T.O.M. :-o My workouts aren't up to par, at least to my standards, but I'm hoping to do better. Jenni it's great to see a post from you. I'm glad to hear that things are trying to normalize a little. Have a great getaway. Love ya!!!! Guest guest
Hi Connie, I took the CO for a while. Personally, I noticed nothing. I bought the brand NOW. It's the correct type and much less expensive. I probably didn't give it as good of a chance that I should have, I just had a hard time 'gagging' it down. I tried it just out of the jar...OMG, I did gag. I mixed in peanut butter...no better. I put it in my coffee and was able to get it down, if I did it fast. I just hate coconut tho, so that didn't help. There's a board that has a lot of info on it, I'll have to see if I still have the link. I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Unless someone else has it and can get it to you faster. Love ya, Kiki
Guest guest
Hi Connie, I've been using coconut oil since June of this year. I had read an article about it speeding up metabolism, and the information impressed me... I have not seen any significant metabolism effects -- no weight loss, no raised body temp (mine runs very low). However, my husband and I really like it... We cook with it (it seems a very healthy fat) -- doesn't burn or make foods " greasy " -- helps that we both like the coconut flavor! I use it as a face moisturizer under my makeup, and it really works well. Both my husband and I use it as a hand and body lotion -- tends to sink in, not leave you with a greasy feeling. However, because it is solid (i.e., hard) at room temp, it's not good with mixing into recipes, like in a bread dough -- unless you warm up the ingredients -- else it'll clump and not spread out evenly). This past summer, when we went to FL and walked the beach, I used it on my shoulders, neck, chest, etc. -- no burn (my husband wasn't as brave, used his standard sun screen -- but then he's blue-eyed and fair-skinned). Maybe if I ever got to the point of eating 3 tablespoons a day of the stuff, I would see some good results -- but that's a LOT of oil! I put about 10-12 g in my morning cereal (I like the taste and its ability to make me feel full) -- and when I sometimes fry meats, I use some. We rarely fry foods, never deep-fry -- just not a lot of places to use it. And I'm not at all convinced that I can simply " add " the oil to my diet, I want to subtract an equal amount of calories! There are some interesting books out there about it, I think one of them comes with your first order??? Bonnie HI Hi Friends, I was just reading an article in First Magazine about coconut oil. Who is on it and what benefits have you seen? Thanks for the info. Connie

Guest guest
Thanks Bonnie, It was in First Magazine, as a fat burner. It sounds VERY versatile. I may try it but I don't think I could do 3 tablespoons either. Hugs Connie :-) HI Hi Friends, I was just reading an article in First Magazine about coconut oil. Guest guest
Thanks Jenni, I am trying the 1/2 teaspoon a day of cinnamon. It is supposed to keep your blood sugar level and help your fire up your metabolism, and keep you full longer. I mix it with splenda and put it on my 35 calorie hearty whole wheat bread and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and sprinkle it on top, mmmmmmmgood, I have that for breakfast and it really keeps me full. A trick I learned in Weight Watchers :-) I also use the cinnamon stick in my tea. Luckily I love cinnamon. Hug, Connie :-) Re: HI Hi Connie, I tried it and didn't find that it did anything for me, but there may be others who have had wonderful results with it. with love, Jenni Proud Air Force Mom! Guest guest
I really like cinnamon -- and a 1/2 tsp a day is supposed to help? I need to try adding that to my cereal in the morning, I bet it would taste pretty good....thanks! P.S. -- if you want to save money on cinnamon, buy it in bulk from your local whole foods/central market type place -- it (and all other spices/herbs) are a LOT cheaper that way! Guest guest
Connie -- prayers are being sent... I have also had back problems, and I have no idea what you can do once you get that initial " twinge " -- heat, moisture, stretching -- none of it seems to help at that point -- it typically takes about 3 days for it to work through for me. what I have found helpful is to lay on the floor with my legs (bent at the knees) on a chair/bed -- sort of like a " sideways " sitting position -- apparently this takes the pressure off the spine (or something) -- not something you can likely do at work but can at home -- I have a friend (with severe back injuries) who frequently sleeps in this position. Taking a hot shower after I've lain like this gets me mobile for a short spell.... I also am trying to strengthen my back -- specifically with the cobra (using LL breathing), rolling my back on the ball, and some of Rashelle's video exercises -- my last occurrence of back trouble was in August, won't know if this is helping or not for a long time..... I sure hope this settles out FAST for you!!! Bonnie Hi Dear Friends , Please pray for me , I was emptying the trash here at work and pulled a back muscle in the small of my back. I have had back problems on and off all my life, it is not fun!! Thanks, Connie
