Guest guest
, I have had a fluttering feeling in my chest occasionaly. My EP said it was the Anti-Tachycardia Pacing that is programmed into my ICD. Other than that the only time I know my ICD is there is when I get a strong shock due to Vtach. Guest guest
thanks stacie.........i thought the only "shock" that gets delivered was "the big one".......it never even dawned on me that the cardioversion is a shock of sorts with just less intensity. i guess that would make sense. nope, hear no sound which is probably jsut as well but the electrical sensation is really weird. Re: have a question evie there are two setigns in cardioversions in most icd the big shock or the higher streghen shock there would be no question as to if you where shocked it would knock you off your feet hoever the lower streghen shock some people nptice it and soem dont when i have the lower streghten shokc it like you have describe like a elcetiacle tingleing though the body sometimes you can ehe the pop from the icd others dont depending on your settign and the amount od shock it shocks that would vary from persont o person so yes this defently could be when yo are gettign the shocks ! however if you are getign the high steghtn shock most of the time those you really feel and then most people shake or feel like tingleign for a while after ! i concerter that "aftershocks" but from what you escribe i would say yep that defently sounds that way ! stacie ,24 shockign life for shockign people evelyn <eviefor3aol> wrote: since you all are so well educated and experienced with the many things that come with having an icd, i am hoping that someone can give me a little guidance. at my last interrogation, the tech said that i had had cardioversion at least 2 times. lately i have noticed that every now and then i get this weird little electrical type tingle through my body.......could that be coming from the cardioversion? thank you evie Plan your next roadtrip with MapQuest.com: America's #1 Mapping Site. Guest guest
thank you joe. i know when my pacer kicks in because it changes the whole rhythm, but this is different. it would be what i (would imagine anyway) think it would feel like to stand in an electrical field of some sort. it's not really an unpleasant sensation, just strange. tingles throughout your body. Guest guest
Hey, I told the technician that someday the ICD would wirelessly transmit a message to a computer and that computer would notify 911 if it thought I needed emergency attention. Then because of the GPS in the ICD the EMTs would be able to locate me and come to my aid. Someday I could be walking along and an ambulance could come along and say, “Mr. Schmidt, your ICD says you have to come with us”. The technician said we are not that far from being there. Be careful, big brother is watching. Guest guest
I had a " weird electrical " sensation too a few weeks ago... sorta started in my chest and moved out to my arms and face and stomach... i noted the time and date, going to the doc for my 6 week follow up after the implant tomorrow and will ask them to check if there was anything that night, also had some serious palpitations tonight, much the same as when the tech tested in in hospital... will see what they say tomorrow... Guest guest
seems like it was... in my head... neither the doc nor the tech can explain what i felt... nothing in the icd logs for the night it happened... and thankfully no events whatsoever since the implant 7 weeks ago, only thing it does shows is that my fluid levels around my heart is seesawing up and down quite a bit, guess i need to take those pesky diuretics more regularly... > > please let me know and if he says it's in your head, please tell him that it is in other people's heads as well!!? a common phenomenon then maybe?? > > thanks > evie > > > Re: have a question > > > > > > > I had a " weird electrical " sensation too a few weeks ago... sorta started in my chest and > moved out to my arms and face and stomach... > > i noted the time and date, going to the doc for my 6 week follow up after the implant > tomorrow and will ask them to check if there was anything that night, also had some serious > palpitations tonight, much the same as when the tech tested in in hospital... > > will see what they say tomorrow... >
