Guest guest
Dear ahmed,Firstly aphthous ulcers are self limiting, that means that they regress after a period of 5-6 days,,,with respect to the autoimmune etiology, triamcinolone may prove beneficial as it reduces the immune response causing the ulcer plus it has a local anti inflammatory action.-ashish. Guest guest
according to the BNF:Beclometasone dipropionate inhaler 50–100 micrograms sprayed twice daily on the oral mucosa is used to manage oral ulceration [unlicensed indication]. Alternatively, betamethasone soluble tablets dissolved in water can be used as a mouthwash to treat oral ulceration [unlicensed indication].Systemic corticosteroid therapy is reserved for severe conditions such as pemphigus vulgaris.Choline salicylate dental gel has some analgesic action and may provide relief for recurrent aphthae, but excessive application or confinement under a denture irritates the mucosa and can itself cause ulceration.Other preparations Doxycycline rinsed in the mouth may be of value for recurrent aphthous ulceration.
