The largest semi that I was aware of caught fire and sank off Brazil about 3

years ago. The P-36 was owned and operated by Petrobras. Today the largest

might be Global/Santa Fe's Explorer drill ship...... the old, refitted

sub hunting ship. Anyone remember the name of that sub?

Regards,

Donn

Subject: Platform sizes

Hi all,

Just a quick brain picking session for all - I've been asked by the

television company making the Remote Medic programme what is the biggest

'rig' in the world - I assume they mean platform but would like to check up

on both production and drilling....

I believe the Troll is the physically largest platform - but I'm not 100%

sure, any other ideas?

and what is the biggest (physically) drilling rig (semi - or Jack up) - is

it an American one in the Gulf of Mexico ? (any names?)

Does any one have any Ideas or comments

Thanks for your help

Best wishes

Jack-ups able to operate at greatest depth = Maersk Innovator and
