If the bran is eaten as part of a whole grain flour or meal, it doesn't

have that effect. It only occurs when excess pure bran is used. Your

might try using the oat bran instead of all or part of the wheat.

High fiber cereals are ok as long as you follow the fist/palm

measurement and there is a low amount of added sugar. In fact, the

actual fiber count is not included in the overall carbs because fiber

has no effect on blood sugar and passes through undigested.
