Guest guest
Well, I'm not totally sure that that's what it is, but I have read that it helps to detox the body and after being on it for a couple of weeks 3T a day, my body is starting to eliminate everytime I eat anything, so I am assuming that is what is happening, since I have never done that before. A great place to read all about it is www.tropicaltraditions.com It has a wealth of information. Love, Re: Coconut Oil Question ( C.) Ok, please tell me about the detoxing part. Guest guest
I use it when I fix myself an egg and also if I am having a smoothie, I take my 3 T of oil, put it in a container and let it sit in hot water until it melts. I mix up my smoothie and then add the oil and mix. If you use it in a smoothie while it is in it's solid state it will get colder and clump, so that is why it needs to be liquid. If I don't get it in this way I will sometimes take a little at a time in a spoon. It has a really good taste but the texture is like butter or crisco and is a little hard to get past that thought in my mind. I also made a chocolate cake the other night and used the coconut oil and splenda and it was really good. You can use it to replace any oils in any recipe. love, Re: Re: Coconut Oil Question ( C.) Guest guest
----- Hi Lizkins, sometimes I make an all fruit smoothie with orange juice as my base and then any fruit I want to add. I usually add at least a few frozen berries to make it slushy. I also sometimes make a protein shake. I have a vanilla brand and I just add either cold water, juice, milk or yocurt and then maybe a banana or peach or whatever fruit you want. I usually just make it out of whatever I have. You can use just the protein shake without fruit and it is good that way too. If I can think of some more I will let you know when I get back. See ya, Love, What kind of smoothies do you make with it and how do you make them? You can let me know when you get back if you want, I totally understand. Guest guest
Hi R, I get mine from www.tropicaltraditions.com I have found some in the health food stores but you have to make sure it is pure, virgin, unprocessed and it is sometimes hard to find. If you go to the website it will tell you all about it. But in a nutshell, it has been given a bad rap. It is very low in trans fats. Hydrogenated vegetable oils are the ones that are bad for you. There is a lot of information on the site and is very good reading. Love, Re: Coconut Oil Question ( C.) Ok, please tell me about the detoxing part.
