Guest guest
HAve you tried fenugreek with ginger, or with chamomile? LOL Ya, sage is very good for your stomach, also good when you have a cold or the flu. Palestinians use sage in their black tea. Make sure not to let it boil or even sit in your tea too long before you strain it, use very small amount. it is good. But sage will dry up a nursing mother's milk, so be very careful with it. Anyone ever try indian " chai " spices? they make a nice cup of " tea " all by themselves. :-) Zahra In a message dated 4/12/03 8:24:36 PM Pacific Daylight Time, bwp@... writes: > One more note about herb teas: fenugreek!!!!!! A few years ago I bought a big bag of large, thick-stemmed, dried green stuff in a Middle Eastern food store with a label that simply said " meramieh " . The guy at the store said it's good for the stomach, and I've always simply liked to experiment with different flavors, irrespective of any reputed healthfulness. I assumed it was some safe and common substance, but I was never able to turn up any information about it, not that I ever actually tried anything more than a 30 second google. By the way, the flavor is one of the most overwhelming things I've ever encountered, and not especially appealing, but I like to use it in very small quantities. I'm embarassed to admit I don't know a lick of Arabic. One more note about herb teas: fenugreek!!!!!! It's a flavor everyone should sample at least once. Unfortunately, although I've developed a true fondness for plain fenugreek tea, I've never found anything that combines well with it. I'm just a young lad from the suburbs, so maybe some of the sages on this list know some synergistic flavor combinations?
