Guest guest
Hi, I went to the dentist today. X-rays from an earlier appointment showed that all 3 of my root canals (I got them before 1990) are free of bacteria! Can he tell 100% with an x-ray? Now he says I may need another root canal. I told him that I did not want the root canal and told him why. His answer was this : Before 1990 all root canals were sealed with Sargenti Paste(a form of arsenic) and if a rod was needed it was stainless steel. Mine are SS. At some point in time after 1990 they started using gutta percha (a placticized zinc oxide) and if a rod is needed it would be titanium. He says that the new way is getting good results with no bacteria forming. The other alternative is an implant. What do you guys say to that? Is he feeding me a bunch of bull! Does anyone have any experience with this? Send me links. Please answer right away if you can as I go back tomorrow 4-24-03 for him to access what needs to be done. Thanks a bunch, Del
