Guest guest
Ideally, the alginate impressions are to be cast immediately. Still becoz of some reasons if it is decided to delay, moist gauze or moist cotton can be placed on the impression surface. This has a time limit though maximum 15 - 30 min. 1)if the wet gauze/cotton or even for that matter the impression is kept immersed in water, it will SWELL- a process known as "imbibition". 2) If the alginate impression is kept dry for a long time, it will lose water and will SHRINK- a process known as "syneresis" also commonly known as weeping of the set gel.3)Glyceryl trinitrate 0.5% sublingual.Regards,Dr. Ashish.Sent on my BlackBerry® from VodafoneFrom: Divi Divi <divi_ore@...>Sender: Date: Wed, 23 Nov 2011 21:11:06 +0530 (IST) < >Reply Subject: questions from feedbacks ! can any one answer these-Alginate after impression if you put soaked gauzes on it what happens? –contraction, expansion, shrinking etSame alginate if you leave it without soaked gauze –same options given as aboveAngina emergency drug regardsdivi
