Guest guest
Do it through the crown. I think endodontics can be done through the crown. We dont have ot make 3 or 4 canals in crown. We have to make access anywayz. So with access we will get to the canals From: Lyudmyla Huhley <huhley2006@...> " " < > Sent: Wednesday, November 23, 2011 1:41 AM Subject: Qs about RCT on UR6 through a PFM Hi guysCould anyone tell me if we can do RCT through PFM on UR6(abtm .tooth)other teeth are okay. Pt doesnt want to take the bridge which made 2 years ago..(no defects on crown)What do you think?I know it is difficult to make 3-4 canals...if one rooted tooth-that wouldnt't be a problem...Your opinion is vitally important to me.SincerelyLyudmyla

Guest guest
Can be done,HoweverYOU HAVE TO EXPLAIN ALL RELEVANT RISK & BENEFITS.This is last option better then ending up removing teeth. But never the long term solution. But important is to understand what made a PEM crowned tooth to be going for RCT. if there is decay underneath the crown the restoration is impossible.Problems are:1.Decay teeth with no proper restoration prior to PFM causing Secondary caries under PFM.2.Poor margins3.Root caries due to gingival recession. etc.So its important to weigh benefits and risk and likely outcome of treatment and the informed consent.RegardsZahid From: huhley2006@...Date: Tue, 22 Nov 2011 20:41:44 +0000Subject: Qs about RCT on UR6 through a PFM Hi guysCould anyone tell me if we can do RCT through PFM on UR6(abtm .tooth)other teeth are okay. Guest guest
but if the decay which has involved the pulp due to poor crown margin , then we need to do both rct , restore the decay and remake a new crown or bridge. only rct will relive the pain but the decay near the margins can spread over the time provide favorable space for more food accumulation cause irritation to gum then gum irritation and so on..........correct me pleaseFrom: Irfan Salim <irfansalim85@...>Subject: Re: Qs about RCT on UR6 through a PFM" " < >Date: Tuesday, 22 November, 2011, 8:43 PM Do it through the crown.
