Guest guest
Hi folks, This post is a little off topic but I think many will be interested and there is a connection to NT. Many people have written that they are coming to NT due to various health conditions. Me too - i was vegetarian for a few years many years ago and when I started to have serious fatigue and other symptoms I reexamined diet and nutrition and this eventually led to Price and NT. Anyway, this is a post of encouragement for anyone dealing with a health challenge to consider seeing a Tibetan doctor. This is a 1000+ year old system that is very reknowned for healing conditions that confound Western medicine. I recently started seeing a Tibetan doctor and have been most impressed by her perception and diagnosis, her diet and exercise recommendations and the medicines administered. And this medical system is very compatible with the NT perspective. So the main point is that if we are all interested in establishing health by eating in a traditional way, we might consider a traditional system of medicine to complement diet when necessary. I'm sure a few people will wonder why I am seeing a Tibetan doctor so here is a short story. I've had a heart murmur since birth and even as a teen I was told heart surgery to replace the valve would be eventually needed. So I've had echocardiograms once or twice a year for years now. Anyway, the western cardiologist was really starting to push the surgery idea my last visit a few months ago and though this is considered mostly safe I'm not exactly thrilled at the concept - i'm 31. So I decided to search for a *real* traditional type of doctor and found a 7th generation Tibetan phsysician living and practicing in the SF Bay Area. She thinks that if i do excercises, follow diet and take certain medicines, surgery won't be needed - maybe ever. Anyway, there are more details but you get the point. Tibetan doctors in the US are mostly in urban areas.
