Guest guest
Hi Dev, thks for the feedback but i think you should go through what is mentioned in the guidelines for filling the application form. For your notice, I have copied and pasted them ......8.4 If you are submitting evidence from your primary dental qualification as evidence of prior clinical experience, theDean of the dental school must be the referee.8.5 If you are submitting evidence from post-qualification work experience, the person verifying the reference mustbe, or must have been, registered as a professional with the regulatory body in the country where you worked orstudied and must be, or have been, your employer.> Guess people who read da application properly can make it out .. :)I didnt give 3 references. You give that when you dont get 1600 hrs reference form a single person. My prof. gave me a reference for 1600hrs . Hence i got thro with single reference.Regards,Thadsha> > > **> >> >> > Dear friends,> > I would like to inform whomever applying for ore part 1 that you need not> > show Principal or dean's reference for 1600hrs clinical reference if you> > hold a UG degree. Guest guest
Hi, UG is undergraduate , that is your primary dental qualification. You need to get a reference from any of your professors to proove that you have completed 1600 clinical hours .Only then you are eligible for the examination. Did you check out the application form given in GDC website? Here is the link, http://www.gdc-uk.org/Dentalprofessionals/ORE/Pages/How-to-apply.aspx If you need to sit for April exam pls send your applictaion as quick as possible bcos they take around three weeks for processing. Best wishes!!! Guest guest
if you read through everything thing you would end up confusing yourself mate ... it has Section 7: Clinical experience reference8.1 You must provide one or more references to demonstrate you have completed at least 1,600 hours of clinical experience prior to applying for the ORE.8.2 You may need to submit more than one clinical reference in order to satisfy this requirement. If this is the case, use the three forms provided or print as many copies as you need of this part of the form from our website and send each referee a separate copy.8.3 Your referees must complete this section of the application form to verify that you have this experience, providing details of your clinical experience. They may continue on additional sheets if necessary. 8.4 If you are submitting evidence from your primary dental qualification as evidence of prior clinical experience, theDean of the dental school must be the referee.8.5 If you are submitting evidence from post-qualification work experience, the person verifying the reference must be, or must have been, registered as a professional with the regulatory body in the country where you worked orstudied and must be, or have been, your employer.8.6 If you are submitting evidence of experience gained in the UK under temporary registration, the referee must be the person who employed you for the purposes of temporary registration8.7 If you are unable to submit evidence of your clinical experience because you are a refugee or asylum seeker, please contact us to discuss alternative methods of verification. its not mandatory for a person to fulfil all those 7 points ,.,.,.8.4 If you are submitting evidence from your primary dental qualification as evidence of prior clinical experience, the Dean of the dental school must be the referee. is only valid if you are showing ur experience just based on your certificate rather than getting it from professor ... this is what u did 8.5 If you are submitting evidence from post-qualification work experience, the person verifying the reference must be, or must have been, registered as a professional with the regulatory body in the country where you worked orstudied and must be, or have been, your employer. Guest guest
Hi sowmya, your provisional certificate is not enough for the exam. You need your final degree certificate attested which will be given to you during your convocation. I think you may have to wait for another 6 months to get your final degree certificate froùm your college. Regard to IELTS , you need to do Academic module. I think you have vast time for preparation. so, start preparing right from now. Best wishes!!! -Thadsha > > I HAVE JUST PASSED MY BDS FROM INDIA AND IT IS WRITTEN IN GDC AND I HAVE A PROVISIONAL DEGREE WILL IT BE ACCEPTED AND IN IELTS WHAT SHALL I GIVE THERE ARE OF 2 TYPES General & Academic WHAT SHALL I GIVE PLEASE HELP ME OUT. > REGARDS > SOUMYADEEP >
Guest guest
Hi Dev, i think u didnt understand the rules completely. I dindt show any post qualification experience. I showed my clinical expereince from my primary qualification only. It is strictly mentioned that you need to get your dean's reference. When I enquired at the GDC office they mentioned the same. But , another memeber of this group gave me the confidence to get it from my prof. bcos she has done so and was accepted. Hence, I too gave my prof.'s reference and it was accepted. I posted this message just to clarify ppl so that they dont spend much time on getting dean or principal's reference. and there is no confusion at all, what they have mentioned is you can show complete 1600 hrs from a single person or can divide the hours into many and can be given by 3 or even more . If you carefully read they wud have even mentioned you can get more additional clinical reference bcos in some colleges they give the reference on dept basis. So, u may need more than 3. Finally, to make simple , you can get it from any one prof who is in good terms with you so that he wud immediately respond to the verification process done by gdc , wud be better . Thanks and Regards, Thadsha > > > ** > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Dev, I applied in July but my application process began only in august bcos july was annual vacation period in UK. Soon after they begin the process, they will do it in a week's time or two provided your referees respond to the verification immediately. In my case, one of my referee didnt turn up immediately. Bcos of him my process was delayed by another 15 days. Documents needed are, 1)completely filled application form (in black ink) 2)good conduct certificate (DCI provides it ) 3)degree certificate attested by a notary public 4)Ielts result sheet (original ) 5)ENIC NARIC certificate ( when I applied this was not asked but now it has been made compulsory) yes, ORE part1 is in april 2012 ore sometimes they might make it to the end of march also. So, I keep in mind as a march exam so that i cud wind up my revision by feb. Guest guest
Regarding Visa, gdc is not concerned with what type of visa you are getting. so, whichever is easier for you to go through can be chosen. I dont have visa prob , bcos I live in France now. dont worry. every year many students come from India to write this exam. Definitely, you will get yours. Get advice from some consultancy if you have little clue abt the visa. > > > > > > > ** > > > > > > > > > > > > Dear friends, > > > > I would like to inform whomever applying for ore part 1 that you need > > not > > > > show Principal or dean's reference for 1600hrs clinical reference if > > you > > > > hold a UG degree.
