How about a polar heart rate monitor as occ health may just want a pulse reading

?

Best wishes

ECG/Heart monitor

Gents

Our Occupational health guys are looking to buy an ECG/heart monitor. I

have suggested 'Pro-Pack' because it is portable.

Can anyone suggest make models?

Cheers

Rod

The Pro Paq is an excellent unit, and just as an aside, it is rated fit for use

in military aircraft (Australian).

It's up to about it's fourth or fifth revision and can be used by just about

anyone with it's built in training feature

The early learning centre do an excellent model, I think it's made by Tomy or

Fisher Price. You may need an adult to put in the batteries for him though.

Propaq is the best out their

Excellent track record

Years of reliable transport experience behind it

And good used market out their, also

This said

The competition has decent models

That are worth a gander

My question

Propaq = Cardiac monitor, Temp, O2Sat, NIBP, Art. line, etc., YES

Propaq - Just Cardiac monitor ? ? ?

Why not get an AED with a good screen instead ?

Hey , thanks for the adult reply!

The man who holds the purse strings has gone out and bought AED to save

money and now found that a ECG is needed/prefered. Hence the need for monitor.

The AED has an ECG but somepeople are not happy unless they have flashing

lights and beep beep noises (i.e. Boardman).

Cheers

Rod,

Are they looking at this as part of their emergency kit or is it intended

solely as part of a health screening strategy (e.g. pre employment

medicals)? This will affect the functions that they are looking for, the

size of the unit and the power supply. The role therefore needs to be

clarified before a decision can be made.

Hope that this helps,

Gareth

Hi Anton, hope you are well.

They have a defib (AED). It is just a monitor that is required as the AED

is not enough. The all singing all dancing machine was done away with (don't

ask me why, nothing makes sense) and the guys at the pointy end want something

to replace it. I am starting to think that some people want to have a machine

to tell them what is going on and make a decision for them. I can see it

now: Pt lying on bed and nurse with FMG!

Marvellous!
