Guest guest
I think you should explain the situation to the patient and say the risks.Usually, in coronal portion is not difficult to remove but it's also good to say that may be necessary to go to specialist or hospital (I don't know how it works in NHS). Correct me if I'm wrong.Rossana 2011/10/12 nisha <nish_alam@...> Breaking bad news – 35 yr old beautician, file fractured in coronal portion of UR4 root canal during treatment, have to explain to pt, include how will situation be rectified and how will it effect the prognosis of the tooth. Pt adamant that she does not want to loose her tooth. i wanted to know if the file fractures in coronal prat we can remove it isnt it? and how to deal with her? cheers

Guest guest
The (negative) risks could be enlarge the chanel more than necessary even in a wrong direction in order to catch the broken file, what's a risk of failure, move the broken file towards the apex instead what would maybe be more dificult or even impossible to remove, break a second file on trying. That's what I remember now. Maybe there are more. Guest guest
Always be honest with the patients. They are free to change the treatment and you are legally safe if it goes wrong. My view, of course. If there are any other opinion, please... :-) Rossana On Oct 12, 2011 3:24 PM, " naveed anwar " <drnaveed.anwar843@...> wrote:
