How about adding lavender essential oil to the apple cider vinegar spray you

already made? Lavender is great for the skin and is used to treat eczema and

psoriasis(sp?), both of which cause itching. She probably itches because the

helmet irritates her scalp/skin.

Just make sure you're using a good quality lavender E.O. A lot of lavender

essential oils on the market are mixed with lavandin, a hybrid cousin of

lavender. Lavandin had wonderful properties but it can't be used interchangeably

with lavender because lavandin contains camphor. If you use it on burns, it will

make the burn worse, whereas real, pure lavender is great for burns. This is why

some people will try aromatherapy and say it doesn't work -- the " essential oil "

they use is a synthetic or somehow doesn't have the chemical components of the

genuine E.O. so the results are different.

Hi Beth,

Have you tried using witch hazel and lavender essential oil in your formula?

The smell factor would be gone and you might have a winning formula for your

friend. I use witch hazel for most itchy, sticky situations and it works

well for me.

Good luck,
