Guest guest
Don't get discouraged Don. A TTT is a fairly serious surgery. Watch out for increased pain, pressure, and warmth to the touch that might signal infection. There are a lot of good post-surgery TTT discussions here; http://www.kneeguru.co.uk/KNEEtalk/index.php?board=6.0 Hope this helps. Mike MT 5 days into Caticel with TTT Just a short note. I expected less pain than I am experienceing at the moment. I cannot keep it under control without taking the max dosage that the OS gave me. I thought it would get better quicker, but I would say it's worse now than a couple of days ago. I think the constant low pain gets to yuo after a while. The hardest part is getting up to move somewhere. The blood rush is just bad bad bad. Right now, I hav taken my brace off as I lie on the couch and have Ice onthe knee. I have been keeping the brace on ALL THE TIME. I think I wil start to take it off if I am not moving around. I am currently at 30 degrees on the CPM but will move to 35 degrees today.(I think) My lesion is in the Trochlea groove and was about 4 CM long. ANy feedback is appreciated. Guest guest
Hey Don; yes the surgery will be very sore for a few weeks BUT the good news is the blood rushes will go in the second week!!! not long now!! There is nothing wrong with taking extra strong pain killers post op ... i did it for nearly 3 weeks,...!! actuallly a little confession.. post op they had me hooked up to one of those morphine injectors ... you click the button and it keeps coming out in little doses.... I was having a little play with this on my second night and can't even remember the wife and kids calling in to see me - they thought it very funny as I was telling jokes and being very stupid... singing songs and making stupid noises ... the next morning the head nurse came in and said that I was not using the morphine unit responsibly and removed it all... bitch..!! One thing for sure though ... when the staples come out later this week you will need to keep the painkillers going for a few days after that, then mysteriously it all seems to start to come right.!! Chin up .. next milestone ... staples come out!! Mark > > Just a short note. > > I expected less pain than I am experienceing at the moment. Guest guest
No TTT for this lad ... but i reckon it can't hurt to loosen the leg brace as long as you don't try to move or worse bend the joint without support!!! Yes I did get out the bed by myself after day 3 and yoh hoh ho ... waited for the blood rush to settle before i made any movements!! I used a granny aid to hop around the floor to the dunny..!!! (do you guys say that?) as i wasn't ready for the forearm crutches till the second week... I think very wise for your wife to hang around for the second week as you do not want to fall over at this stage or back you go to repeat the op again!!! when can i see the pics of what the OS did?? 4cm's is a big hole - did he use the maci approach or pour it in and sealed it over ??? I am so curious it is killing me..!!! are you watching a lot of TV at the moment... Days of our Lives I suppose???
