Guest guest
Hi All, I've got a queery that someone on the list may be able to solve. I've been informed that only Registered british nurses can work in the above mentioned waters. But I have also been informed that if the medic is not a nurse, but is audited yearly by a Qualified Doctor, that he would be allowed to work in theese waters. Anbody know the rules, and where I can find them. Yours Aye Rab Aitken

Total require nurses but the other companies don't. You may also have to do a week's course every year. I did mine at medico's in hull in october. Hope this helps. brian
Guest guest
Rab, There is no problem for Medics to work in Norwegian or Dutch waters as I have worked in both. Could possibly be operator preference?? Although if you are a Medic onboard a dive support vessel in Norwegian waters, the Norwegian Maritime Directorate requires a Registered Nurse to be on board. Also worth noting that if you do work in Norwegian waters, you are liable to Norwegian Tax which is more that UK contributions. Regards, Waqar.
