Guest guest
Hi gang, I am usually only a lurker but now I am very curious as to know something so I thought I woul dcome out of lurking and ask away. I hope that is okay. 1.) Okay fill me in, what are bubble bars???? I am curious as to what they are, I never heard of them. I am fairly new to bath & body so I would love to know more about what these are. 2.) I mostly do M & P, I use to do CP soap, but I have another question about something I saw on ebay...it was a post/auction for a M & P base that produces a very hard bar almost as hard and as good as CP or HP soap.....what type of M & P base is this????? I love making CP soap but due to the lye being hard to find I haven't made any in a year :0( so this soap base has me very curious. Also what can we add to get a nice hard bar of M & P??? I know coconut oil makes a very nice hard bar in CP so I am wondering if adding alittle coconut oil to M & P would do the same. I love doing both M & P and CP but when it comes to M & P I would love a very hard bar. 3.) Any advice or suggestions for someone who wants to break into doing more bath and body other then M & P soaps and premade bases? ALSO, HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! I hope everyone is enjoying their day and all the yummy food that comes with today! And most of all I hope everyone remembers what we are thankful for and that we spend the day with friends and family. TIA for any help! I am fairly new to bath & body so I would love to know more about what these are. bubble bars are made with an ingrediant called SLSA,( Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate) that's the soap or bubbling agent. It is in a powder form, that is mixed with other things like salts, glycerin etc.. to form a a solid bar that dissolves and bubbles in water. 2.) I have only used stearic acid to harder regular MP soap. 3.) Any advice or suggestions for someone who wants to break into doing more bath and body other then M & P soaps and premade bases? I can't help with bases, I am a scratch gal... just look at some sites, see what hot new products are then research recipes...I started with MP, then moved to CP.. then bath salts, then lotions and body butter now I do a bit of everything.. Guest guest
adding coconut oil to MP doesn't make a lick of difference to the hardness. Been there and done that It'll add some extra moisturizing and cut down on the lather. although i've never added stearic, i've read it makes it harder. I am going to try it and see how it goes. I think my mp is hard enough. the only thing is i wish i could make the bars last longer. Anyone have thoughts on that? Guest guest
'Cold Process-Low Sweat' Melt and Pour Bases ************** Who makes this base ? I haven't seen it here but it sounds interesting . _www.soapbops.co.uk_ (http://www.soapbops.co.uk/)
Guest guest
I always find beeswax very difficult to work with and it adheres itself to all of your utensils and your expensive stainless everything. I can't imagine the 1st born perfect bar of soap ever had bees wax in it. Keep it simple. My advice if you want a harder bar is to not superfat anymore than 10%, add a bit more hard oils, (coconut oil, all the butters) and wait the full 3 weeks to a month for drying. In this time the bars should be kept in a place that is about 68-72 degrees and reletively dry. Hope this helps, www.sensatia.com >From: mingbop@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: A Lurker coming out with questions... >Date: Sun, 26 Nov 2006 04:24:40 EST > >they say that adding beeswax pellets will make a harder bar, I have some >here but I haven't tried it yet .. > > > > >_www.soapbops.co.uk_ (http://www.soapbops.co.uk/) > > >

Guest guest
SFIC makes a low sweat " like cold process " base, that's probably the best. I don't know who else might make one. Traci
