Guest guest
Body Butters If I don't have on hand Mango Butter, can I substitute Coconut Butter? Thinking of a Body Butter I tried (commercial) that listed incredients of Mango, Shea and Jojoba. Thanks for any input. Guest guest
Kathy This is a body butter recipe don't mix it up with body bar witch is hard. Body butter is left in a container to be scooped out. Kim Fuoco www.honeybearsoap.com Re: body butters > Terri, Don't you need any beeswax at all? Guest guest
nope, no bees wax. A body butter is meant to be like butter ... real butter that you use on bread. Bees wax would make it hard. This keeps in a jar as a semi solid cause of the cocoa butter and melts on contact with your skin. I use it on elbows and any place I want deep penetrating moisture. The bees wax would also hold it to the outter layers of the skin. I've added vit e to this only as an antioxident for the oils... so the oils will stay fresher longer. I love to scent mine with lavender..... believe it or not it blends well with the cocoa butter scent. If you make this a foot butter try adding peppermint or tea tree oil instead. My all time favorite thing to do is just before doing dishes slather my hands well with it and then throw on rubber gloves. The heat from the dish water makes it sink in deep. Doing dishes is a nice treat... you get double duty done this way. Terri
Guest guest
What sells best for me is the mango, strawberry, lemon cream and lavender. No preservatives are needed if there is no water involved..
