Knee Injury

Hello everyone,

I am very new to this board but I need some information. I was

injured in November 2006, where I landed directly on my left knee.

It caused a huge hematoma. I was diagnosed with prepatellar bursitis

as a result. I went threw a month of PT, 2 additional MRI, all same

diagnosis. From March until about September I just lived with the

discomfot and pain. I have a permanent " bruise " as well as

occassional swelling and intermittent pain. I had another MRI done

last week after doing another round of PT. The doctor initially

recommended a bursectomy but said that surgery is a hard one to heal

from, so we opted out of that. After the MRI results came back I was

diagnosed with Chondromalacia grade 3 and Medial plica syndrome.

Nothing mentioned of the prepatellar bursitis. My doctor has

recommended surgery to " clean " it all up and this will eleviate the

pain and swelling. Ok so now my question. Is all that connected to

the accident? My doctor says it may have been there before and the

injury has made it symptomatic. But wouldn't that have shown up on

the other 2 MRI's previous to this last one? THe reason I am asking

is that I am in litigation from this injury and I have to give a

deposition this week as well as the defendants doctor's exam.

I know that I did not have this pain prior to this injury. It has to

be relevant. Thanks for anyone help that replies.
