Guest guest
I voted, lol in pink, just luv that color, do you know that color makes men pupils opens more than any other color?, meaning is atractive to them, junk info I always use to keep in my memorie. brimmels@... escribió: Hi everybody. I've never really talked about the products I make on this list but they're sprays and body scrubs that incorporate not only essential oils but color therapy. Why? Because I'm also a certified color therapist and I like the benefits of the mixes. So my ears always perk up when something interesting involving color is on TV, like tonight when CBS Evening News announced the topics for next week's Assignment America segment and one possible topic is a sheriff who thinks the way to straighten out a convict is make him dress in all pink. Needless to say, I want to hear his reasoning and see if it matches color theory or if the guy is doing something wacky. So if people here could go to http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/20/eveningnews/main2110190.shtml and click on the " think pink " story, I'd REALLY appreciate it. You have to vote this weekend. They announce the topic on Monday. Thanks! Beth __________________________________________________ Correo Espacio para todos tus mensajes, antivirus y antispam ¡gratis! Guest guest
Pink's fabulous. In color therapy terms it represents unconditional love, nurturing, compassion, etc. Since it's red with light added to it, it also deals with red issues (survival, safety, etc.) but in a softer, more gentle way. That's why I can understand the sheriff's reasoning IF he's using color theory meanings. A lot of people do that instinctively. People use color therapy every day when they pick what clothes to wear. The blue power suit conveys that you are a person of authority speaking the truth. We do all this without realizing it. Guest guest
Your colors sound lovely. I think to make it perfect you would need to add a deep dark royal looking red. Something made of red velvet would be nice. Perhaps hand made eye pillows stuffed with your herbs. I think if you try to go for lighter or brighter colors you will unknowingly bring back that 1960 to 1970's look. Speaking from an artists point of view red will bring of the feeling of lucksuallray. Guest guest
I am wondering what feelings a rainbow color lettered logo will inspire. It is a soap logo with my companies name. My Kawika told me that it represents gay to him because of the rainbow flags that they have during the gay festaivals in California. I had thought the letters would inspire fun just like Toys " R " Us. Does anyone know? Leia
Guest guest
Color suggestions! I am getting ready decorate our new store that is opening within a few weeks so I need your color suggestions from the wonderful bath and body list The walls and ceiling are white, the floor is a sand color with a chocolate rug with olive green and sand fern leaves. All trimmings are in gold. The product line is white with gold. I want to bring herbs into the 21st century and out of the notion that only stinky dirty hippies sell herbs. I also want to create a bright fresh CLEAN feeling to the store, so what other accent colors do you all suggest? WE have white ,sand, gold, chocolate, and the counter top in a green marble.. Guest guest
OK, if you're asking me from a decorating standpoint, I'm not your woman, especially since there can be so many variations of green or even sage green. But, if you're asking from a color therapy standpoint, I can say a lot. Your gold trim is great. Metallic gold in feng shui terms represents wealth. Gold as in rich yellow in color therapy represent deep joy, wisdom and understanding/expressing your worth (your inner gold). White is oneness, purity and it makes a great backdrop for other colors so if you're using colorful products, the white walls will show off the other colors without distorting them. The sand and copper colors on your floors represent being grounded, supported and stable. The green your describing in your rug represents power tempered with love, intuition and feminine leadership (great for someone wanting to bring herbs to the 21st century). The green marble countertop represents stability (the marble), prosperity (green marble) and green is coming from the heart and having all the time and space you need. Now as I said, from a decorator's standpoint, the next color suggestions may not work but you might want to add a bit of red and/or turquoise. Red in feng shui terms is prosperity (that's why so many Chinese restaurants use red and gold). In color therapy it's about feeling safe, secure and having all your needs met, including financial. Turquoise is manifestation, expressing from the heart and making your dreams come true. You can use any shade of either color, so if a greeny turquoise works best and you like the idea, go for it. The product line being white with gold sounds good -- clean, attractive and prosperity colors. Guest guest
Yes, technically the gay activist movement uses rainbows but so does my spiritual teacher (a married woman) in New Mexico and color therapists will often sign off on notes with the phrase " rainbow blessings. " It's not tied to one thing. I think a lot of it depends upon how you use it. If you make it playful or cartoony, it'll definitely come across as fun and maybe child friendly. Rainbows contain the colors of the spectrum so they've got lots of great energy. No matter what you pick, anyone with a strong association with a color will focus on that even if 95 percent of the public doesn't. Don't sweat it. Guest guest
I worked with several lesbians in the past and they do have alot of things with the rainbow colors. I didn't even know what it stood for until I worked with them. I'm sure there are lots of people who don't associate the rainbow color as being gay. Guest guest
Thanks Beth!!! for the great suggestions and explanation of colors. That was so impressive. It looks like I did choose the right colors for the rugs Yeah! I think I will be leaning toward turquoise color as accents; I just want people to feel safe, appreciated, happy and healthy when they leave the store. Sounds like you're doing a great job. Yeah, I love working with color. People are AMAZED that by picking a couple of colored bottles and putting them in a pattern, I can tell them what's going on and how to get the best result. It's amazing. And the sprays and oils are fabulous. The latter are very hydrating. Color readings are my favorite type of session because it doesn't feel like work. Guest guest
Thanks everyone! The " Think Pink " story did run. They never officially referenced to color theory except to say that other jails had used pink to calm prisoners. This sheriff had a different idea. He figured Texas men consider themselves tough so they hate pink. He was targetting repeat offender rates and it seems to work. He had a 31 percent repeat offender rate before the pink. The next year it dropped to 3 percent and this year so far it's 5 percent. It still makes sense because pink is a nurturing color so while the prisoners may consciously hate it, maybe it did help to mitigate their tendency to get in trouble, since much of that is derives from not getting something -- love, respect, physical needs met, etc. At the minimum it's an interesting story. Thanks again! Beth -- " Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so. " - Belva " It's kind of fun to do the impossible.
