Re: Tempdent versus other dental nurse courses

hi margi,Even i was thinking of doing the dental nursing course thru tempdent the overseas dentist familirization course but it seems once u do that u won't get job in dental clinic and once u finish that, tempdent won't offer u dental nursing course till u get job somewhere and in any other place u need a job then only can join course or else after joining within 2 weeks u need to get job then only u can continue the course... so one way or the orther u'll be trapped if u dont find job !!!!! best thing i would say is clear ur ore part 1 1st then think about the dental nursing course . This info. was given to me by one girl thru ORE mutual group  who actually did the course from temp. and advised me not to do from tempdent the overses familiarization course as its waste of money, so i dropped the whole plan. But if ur still intrested you can give it a shot.Hope this info. helped u !!

Hi Dawn,

As Far as I have gathered... Tempdent needs us to find one month voluntary job

then if u do the overseas course they guarantee job...rest of the agencies dont

do so. That is one advantage of this agency. My friend has done from tempdent

and she got a job thr them only.And most of the trainee jobs are difficult to

find just by applying online. But lets see I am still thinking. when is ur ORE

part 1?

hey everyone .. as far as the ore part 1 is concerned .. I just have to say that its a specific pattern you have to follow ... The thing I actually found out at end was that I had wasted all the time studying books .. from which questions weren't even going to come .. I don't know exactly how to put it regarding studying, but regarding books .. the only important ones are ..1) Oxford blue and pink book - v v v v important2) Vanders - just a go through so as to familiarize yourself with the basics3) 's anatomy - embryo and head and neck only . Read it. Just to put down the basics in your mind. Then you can use the blue book. Because without moore you can't just open up blue book and get anything.4) Look up the diagram of the pharyngeal

arches and pouches and their derivatives5) Tooth development have a read from anywhere. Probably your basic books from bds.6) Cawson - Oral Pathology and Medicine ... v v v important. Please go through it. It is more imp than you can imagine. Especially cysts, tumours. 7) Medical Problems in Dentistry .. basically I think Scully is one of the guys who makes the papers. Because the most rotten question where you can't find answers to from anywhere ... are from this book . I didn't study this book at all. I despise this book. But some topics I just went through . As in had a look. thats all.8) Pharmacology - its v important you know the pharmacology of the basic drugs. But make sure you understand the drugs. Especially they focus on nsaids, drugs for asthma, cardiac drugs. I just think if you have good concepts or understanding of the drugs. It does the work of helping you

answer.If there is any help I can provide. Be sure to let me know. I will be opening up a blog for all the ore 1 guys out there. To help them prepare. Followed by a kind of discussion on skype or any chat software where you can have interaction. Till I have time will be helping all you guys.
