Retainer.

Hi guys, this is my first time asking a question,

I have just been approached by a video production company asking me to quote for

a retainer, and sessional work as and when needed.

The last time I worked for a similar company , it was for experience, and in

africa, ie all expenses and travel costs covered, but no wage, so I am a little

in the dark with regards to going rates. Basically they want me to provide cover

for their action sequences, and general location medic cover. This does not

prove to be a problem, but as this is the area, I want to work in in the future,

I don't want to seem too overpriced as word of mouth is the best form of

advertisement. They also want to employ me on a retained basis as a health and

saftey bod, again no problem as I have worked in the industry in other roles, eg

cameraman , sound assistant , so I know the basics, but advice on any HSE

courses would also be welcome. And finally, any pitfalls eg indemnity insurance

that you can suggest to ask about before I sign my life away,(if I decide to do

so .)
