Hi ,

I've posted a formula, Le Bath Melt, at

http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/formulary.html

It calls for cocoa butter :-)

Cheers,

Hi Nia

8 oz cocoa butter

3 oz mango butter

3 oz shea buter

5ml (1tsp) vit E

add essential oils to your preference

usually 5ml but it will vary with the oil being used.

I like Tangerine and Rosewood,

or lavender with a couple of drops of peppermint

or Lavender and Geranium

You can add callendula petals or lavender flowers too

and the same recipe is great for making massage bars.

Put the cocoa butter, Shea butter and Mango butter in a double boiler and

melt slowly,

allow to cool for a while and add the vit E and the essentail oils.

Pour into shaped ice cube trays or small moulds and allow to cool.

This bit takes ages and if you cool them over a long period the top

can become a bit lumpy so I put them in the fridge and they come out

lovely and smooth.

I have made bath melts/bath candies in the past and wrapped them in candy foils.

I put about 6 in each cello bag. Here is what I use:

2 parts cocoa butter 1 part shea butter

Melt and pour into candy molds.

Pop out of molds then wrap.

Bath Melts

I have tried & tried to make a bath melt that didn't slump all over itself.

I've added more beeswax, it's still a sodden mess. Help, someone?

Be careful what you wish for....

you may get it....

This is the one that I use.

4 oz cocoa butter natural

4 oz baking soda

2 oz citric acid

Scent

Melt the cocoa butter, stir in baking soda and citric acid, scent and color.

Pour mixture into little molds and let cool. I use a chocolate candy tray

that came with little shell chocolates. You can cool faster if you put them

in the fridge. I have added cocoa powder to it and chocolate chips too.

Hello! I'm relatively new to the group and *very* new to making my

own bath products. I'm attempting to make some simple bath melts

[they're cooling at the moment], but I was wondering how other people

make them and what they like to put in them. Also, I'd love to see

some recipes for beginners [with a limited budget :)]. Thanks!
