Guest guest
For excema, one of the best botanicals is calendula, which is soothing and healing to the skin, without the advserse effects that an allergy reaction that other botanicals like chamomile may bring. It is the very best in my opinion. Oatmeal may sooth the skin but does nothing to help heal the skin. One can use both in a lotion or a cream and also in making liquid soap. Remember that soap will wash off the body while a cream or lotion will linger and help sooth and heal the skin. You will find a calendula recipe on the List Mom's website that I wrote for her for making lotions and creams. http://www.glenbrookfarm.com/makinglotions.htm adding comfrey to the botanicals is also wise since it also contains healing properties. List mom sells all of these ingredients on her website. For liquid oatmeal, follow the lotion recipe on that page for making oatmeal lottion. hth Sherry Natural Care E-books, booklets, spreadsheets www.herbalsoap-healingcreams.com
