Thanks tons...Kim C Kim, I think that would classify as an herbal product that is not FDA regulated as long as you aren't making any claims about what it will do for you. I have sold many herbal tinctures extracted in vodka, grain alcohol or brandy. I know I researched it when I first made them and it was ok then. Hope things haven't changed. Guest guest
Is there another formulation? Alcohol often stains or discolours fabrics, and some might not want to use it for linen sprays.... Just a thought.. Kirstin Re: Linen spray > Ok...questions on this subject. I find that hard to beleive, but it didn't. Does anyone have a formula for linen spray, or a source on the Internet to look up a formula? This is something I would like to sell. Guest guest
For me a linen spray would be water and fragrance (or essential oil) mixed with polysorbate to emulisfy it. You could use Lavender EO or a nice Rose FO. My all time favorite for a linen spray was MMS Cotten FO (smelled like fresh laundry, nice clean cotton, awesome) - to get a decent mixture of the oil with the water, you have to mix the scent with the polysorbate 20 at a ration of 1:3 (or 4) - this will give you a clear mixture and truly emulisyfy it. (or mix it, it's late). AND you have to blend the Fragrance with the Polysorbate very very well first then add the water. My linen spray didn't sell, but it was fun making it. in Cambridge After searching the Archives for " Linen Spray " nothing came up. I find that hard to beleive, but it didn't. Guest guest
I struggled with that for a long time because it sounds like such a simple thing to make but no matter which blending base I used, or what, I always got settlement and cloudiness and I tried about 6 different recipes to no avail. Then....I found of Soul Sisters.biz and she has a great kit and worked out all the emulsion problems and has a kit that sells for about $15 for enough to make a gallon. May not be exactly what you are looking for, but it does eliminate alot of frustration and wasted $ That's my best assist...oh yea, be sure to do .biz as .com is a porn site. If you don't see the kit email her. Alice ~ MooseCreekBathandBody.com Linen Spray After searching the Archives for " Linen Spray " nothing came up. I find that hard to beleive, but it didn't. Guest guest
Rose, Cyclomethicone. A silicone substance. Real easy to work with. Started out as a food additive til the cosmetic industry got hold of it. Guest guest
Here you go. It's funny, I have the silicones and I just haven't tried that blend as yet, but plan on it as it sure sounds simple, but email and she can explain what's in her kits. They suspend, hold the scent nicely and are easy to make. She also provides the health professionals with holistic products, that is what the Natures Forum is. Hop that helps a tad. http://w ww.naturesforum.com/soulsisterz/index.asp Alice ~ MooseCreekBathandBody.com Re: Linen Spray Hi Alice, I tried the link for the linen spray and I got an error message. Guest guest
Hi folks I am new at making linen spray, just started 2 weeks before Christmas and am loving the FO scents. But how do I make it last longer? I use the linen base and the 200 throw scents but some of them are not lingering as long as others. Actually the only one I found to linger was the clean cotton scent and Love Spell. My Plumaria, Ginger, Lilac and Stress Relief and gone in a matter of 1 hour.................is it because of my supplier or am I missing something that should be added besides the base. How do I make the linen spray into /room freshener sprays. ??? Is it possible, thanks for helping this newbie Lona
