Guest guest
Kirsty, Thanks for asking how I am doing. I have never had the sensation that you describe so I have nothing I can offer. Sorry. I will post another note on my progress. Thanks Don On 11/10/06, Kirsty <phillips365157@...> wrote: > > Hi guys, > > I hope everyone is well and that you, Don, are healing up. > > I have a question which is probably weird... > Over the past week my knee has been felling sore in a different way. > You know when there has been material rubbing against your skin and > the skin then gets sore and a bit tender? Guest guest
Could this be a phantom feeling from nerve damage? Every time I get operated on, even arthroscopically, I get nerve damage & weird feelings in areas that those nerves used to innervate. Ann Something weird... Hi guys, I hope everyone is well and that you, Don, are healing up. I have a question which is probably weird... Over the past week my knee has been felling sore in a different way. You know when there has been material rubbing against your skin and the skin then gets sore and a bit tender? My knee has the Rside of my Rknee has been feeling that but it's not caused by anything rubbing against it and the feeling is beneath the skin. Is this just something unusual nappeing to me or has this happened to any of you? Cheers, Kirsty.
Guest guest
Any redness where your skin is sore? I've had something similar before -- I can't be sure it was near my knee, though. Usually it makes me think there is something under the skin about to erupt -- such as a pimple, boil, or in-grown hair. My suggestion would be to dab the area with a cottonball soaked with hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes and then gently apply whatever skin lotion you normally use. If you do see some redness there you might want to rub in an antibiotic ointment instead of lotion -- just to discourage infection should it be a pimple or boil. When I have had these feelings they usually go away in a day or two. Lucinda Kirsty <phillips365157@...> wrote: Hi guys, I hope everyone is well and that you, Don, are healing up. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies Luci and Anne. The weird feeling seems to have gone now anyway. There wasn't any redness and I'm don't think it was the same thing as you experienced but if I get it again I'll definitely keep in mind your advice. Looking at the causes of nerve damage in the knee on medline it could be half several causes. But as it's gone now I'm not going to worry about it, it was probably nothing. Thanks Guys. If you remember a few weeks ago I said that I was going to write to my Dr to tell her what she wouldn't let me say, and I did. i got reply inviting me back (had an appt today) and we sat down and talked somewhat properly and she actually thanked me for 'telling her off' keeps her in line or something . She has also now referred me to an osteo finally(about 80 days wait for the local hosp). Happy Me. I'm glad that the Dr isn't worried about your knee Don, take it easy. Kirsty Re: Something weird... Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: Kirsty I had a similar experience with my PT. She got bitchy & confusing & claimed she'd told me to do things she hadn't, so I wrote out a kind of contract & when I went back we spent my time talking about what had happened, and she admitted that she sometimes overdoes it & thanked me for telling her w/o making a fight out of it, didn't charge me for the hour, gave me two free massages later, thanked me several times after that, and communicated well with me for the rest of my visits.
