For sleep, can you try Melatonin 3mg at bedtime and see if they might help you get a good night's sleep? He is referring me to a Rheumatologist and a PT for water therapy. He said he doesn't doubt my pain and " thinks " I probably do have Chondromalacia (I told him that I was Diagnosed with it over 20 years ago), but he doesn't like to do any surgical repairs or interventions for this condition. He also said other than another cortisone injection; there wasn't anything he would do for the bursitis in my hip. He wants me to strengthen my quads (duh). I explained to him that I can't do quad exercises with out hurting my hip and I can't make my knees feel better without doing the exercises. He just said to do the water therapy and go to the other Dr. I also told him I'm not sleeping and he didn't really say anything other than what he said about the RA Dr. So, he's sending whatever to the RA Dr and they said I should hear from them within 3 weeks! How can I wait that long? How can I find a Dr that will actually DO something about the Chondromalacia? I don't know anyone else with this except those of you on this list. I'm depressed, not sleeping, and in pain 24/7.what to do? Joi
