where to get the lye from ?

hi

I am a memder since 2 years

mostly tried lotions and lip balms here and there

but i have a huge bottle of extra virgin olive oil

will it be suitable for making soap?

do i still need to use coconut oil?

where do i get the lye from?

also any tips for the first timer is appriciated.
