FYIBoth yellow and orange waste receptacles are used in dental practice. What changes depending on the colour is the treatment/disposal required for it.Please read the guidelines for management of healthcare waste by the DH.That will clarify all your questions on waste disposal. Thanks

Hi, just to clarify, for high volume suction tips, they should be disposed off in the sharps bin but they are allowed to be put in the clinical waste provided they are wrapped in tissue paer/disposable bib. At least that is the policy where I work. If question appeared in exam, I would recommend sharps bin! Anybody got any reference just to make settle the question?

Whay is the method of disposal of following instrument????1)metal matrix band sharps2)disposable matrix band sharps3)suction tube sharps or clinical waste. Not sure4)aspirator clinical waste(orange bag)5)stock tray disinfection, wash & autoclave 6)disposable tray single use so discard into clinical waste.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards

in rcs notes suction tip goes in clinical waste, not sharp, they are quite huge-if you put them in the sharp(which need to be filled 2/3)there will not be space by a half a day. Also, disposal of sharps is expensive and arranged at certain time with agencies(dont remember name, sorry).Hope it helps SincerelyLyudmyla From: Ana carolina Soares dunlop <anadunlop@...>
