Will soap making or recycling ruin my oven / pan / crockpot?

I've never made any soap before, and I'm interested in starting out

by recycling / remelting scraps of commercial soap back into bars.

(I thought that I would try it using these instructions:

http://www.millersoap.com/SoapFAQs.html#2)

Can you tell me if soap making or soap recycling will have any

negative effects on my oven / crockpot / or the containers that I

will use for the soap?

- Will my oven permanently smell like soap?

- Should I use a separate crockpot just for soap (that I won't use

for cooking)?

- Should I buy a separate pan / containers just for the soap (that I

won't use for cooking)?

- etc.

Thanks!
