Well, I have been told that rice when placed in the microwave produces moisture.

So when adding dried herbs it may cause it to begin to mildew after a while. ??

You could use walnut husks.

Sorry I couldn't help. But I noticed no one had answered...or at least I didn't

see a reply.

I have misplaced my directions on how to make these. I was wondering

if anyone has recipes as to what kind of herbs go in them with the

rice.

TIA

Sorry I guess I did not see the original post I make these for a living and

I use long grain rice and herbs and I have never had any mold, I place mine

in the freezer and in the microwave there are all sort of other items to

use like flax seed, buck wheat hulls but rice seems to hold the heat better

and it is much more comfortable to lay on or across what ever hurts karen

flax seed holds the heat well too...the oils in it are what help retain the

heat. rice is good, but heated too long and it can scorch. i once heard of

crushed corn, but was told that certain states had problems with a type of bug

that would infest them. we use flax seed and buckwheat hulls to stay on the

safe side.
