Marla,

Thanks. We are no longer surprised when someone calls our daughter

because she does look so much like one of our family. However, she's our

AFS " daughter', an exchange student from Germany. Best part is she has the

same last name, only with the German spelling (Lamm). We're also trying to

verify a very likely geneological link back through Ireland. We're about

70% sure she's actually related to us, just have to prove it now.

The other part of the story is her familiarity with WLS. Her father had

WLS a little over two years ago, so she's familiar with what the post-op

routine is. She's appointed herself my unofficial " personal trainer " and

has me working out on the treadmill and riding a bicycle to and from school

with her every day. Of course, I end up riding two round trips to her one,

but I'm getting my exercise. Like most teenagers, she has one speed,

especially on the bike, that being VERY FAST!! lol

My guess is that the food coloring is dye, and they will definitely bleed. Some

micas that have dye in them will do that too, some will not. The oxides are

better at not bleeding, but they usually don't work that well in aloe, they work

better in oil. Look for colorants made for soaps, and they'll usually tell you

if they'll bleed.

Subject: body parfait

Hi,

I have been fasinated by the double coloured body parfaits,

the simple recipe is: lotion + coloured aloe layers.

now teh trouble is that the aloe colour tends to seep into the

lotion, making it look smudgy.

I tried food colours/powder colours but the same problem.

I have seem pics on the net of great looking parfaits using teh same

recipe.

any ideas to avoid this?

nat
