Guest guest
Greetings, From what I understand , lye is being removed from the store shelves. People use it to make meth. I sure hate to see the hobby and business of soapmaking become extinct because of meth addicts You can order lye from Boyer Chemical http://www.boyercorporation.com/ They are very helpful and you will have to pay a ups hazmat fee on the carton. Guest guest
There was a discussion on several boards about this. Reckitt-Benckiser has discontinued it's Red Devil 100% Lye as of July 2005. All the lye that is still out in warehouses is all there is. There is another brand I found at Lowe's. I believe it's called Roebic, but you have to be sure you get the container that says " 100% Lye " because some have metals added. I can look for the RB link or find the letter they wrote to me, but I actually contacted them because there has been a hoax for a number of years that Red Devil Lye was discontinued; only sadly, now, it's true :-( Frieda There are online suppliers, also.
