There is some instructions on some of the msg boards that will tell you how

to do it. Something about pouring a thin layer of your soap mixture and

cutting it out like you would a cookie. I also found it and it peaked my

curosity. trying putting in the search box " bath confetti " " recipes " that

is how I got it. Glitz

.. Use a 2inch brush and paint the soap onto wax paper, about as thick

as a dime. After the soap has set take the soap off the wax paper and

flip it onto a hard clean DRY surface. Use a double straw (1 straw

that has another straw over lapping it, you will need to cut the

straw length wise and then tape the cut section) and stamp out the

confetties. This is a very long process and requires time and

patience. If you want the confetti with out so much trouble, take a

big knife and cut the soap into small pieces. They will be irregular,

but easier. I also found a very light sprinkling of powdered milk

helps to keep the soaps from not gumming up together.

I bought several jars of the bath confetti while traveling through

Sonoma........I'd never seen it before, but was told by the woman who owned the

shop, that it is made ONLY France.......I've looked all over for it, and have

never again found a source...........I tried it in the bath, and it doesn't do

anything just sits and melts.............ss

bath confetti

Does anyone know how to make bath confetti? It's kind of like small

pieces of soap leaves....I thought I saw a recipe on one of the

boards, but I can't seem to find anything in the archives.

Thanks!

Regarding bath confetti, I wonder if you could use m & p and use crinkled up

aluminum foil. You could probably brush it on that and when hardened and

dry, flex the foil. I would imagine there are similar ways of doing it at

home. Of course it is not going to be like the stuff we get from the

suppliers (I got mine from a soap supply house, don't remember where) but

it looks like paper confetti, I likened it to the texture of gold fish food

- remember that stuff, how thin it is - or a communion wafer, its that

thin. Mine came in all different colors and was sold by the ounce. Since

m & p may not harden as brittle as cold process soap, I think that if I ever

try making it, I would add some beeswax or some other agent to make the

soap harder. What do you think? Carol A2

I think I would paint it - let it cure - freeze it - then drop it on a concrete

porch (while in a baggie) and let it break, like candle-makers do to wax, to get

it in small pieces. Forget that cutting it w/ straw.

I have never tried to make confetti, however, I did add some thin confetti

like pieces to my milk bath. Basically, after making the soap, I found that

the light film of soap left in the measuring cup that hardened, peeled right

off. So, I peeled it, cut it up into little pieces. I found that by dipping

it in the powdered milk it did not stick together. I used these little

pieces in my milk bath. It adds nice color and texture.

I'd be interested if there aren't any animal products in there (ie no

propylene glycol and the glycerin is veggie based).

Thanks!

Bath confetti

Would anyone be interested in buying bath confetti? I am trying to order

specific bath confetti from a wholesaler and in order to do that I need to

order a lot so I was wondering if anyone would like to go in on a buy with

me? I would like to order the following:

>

> Shades of pink hearts-Jasmine

> Shades of purple butterflies-lilac

> Blue ducks-baby powder (which I have never seen anywhere.)

> Pink ducks-baby powder (which I have never seen anywhere.)

>

I use these for bridal and baby shower and wedding favors in tubes, or

vellum envelopes or in gift baskets. The price is $14 per lb, $1.00 co-op

fee and whatever shipping would be to you. Paypal only. Must be paid for in

advance. I will close this May 15 as I really want to get these-I am opening

a store next month and want to offer it there too...and it has to come from

China. If we meet the minimum earlier then I will place the order earlier.

If you order between now and May 9 you will entered into a drawing for $100

worth of packaging material. Please contact me ASAP if interested. Thanks.

The ingredients will be one of these two: I don't know how they choose, which

will be which.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Polyacrylate Starch, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,

Cocamide DEA, Water, Glycerin, Glycol Distearate, Fragrance, Methylparaben,

Butylated Hydroxytoluene

Sodium Polyacrylate Starch, Sodium Alkyl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,

Cocamide DEA, Glycerin, Water, Silicone Oil, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Carbomer,

Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Let me know if this would be okay.

Any way of finding out if the glycerin is veggie based? Definiately don't

want the first one, I can't use anything with mineral oil in it...

Thanks,

this is an idea, never tried though,....

u take soap base, add whatever u need to, like color/oils etc, and

cook it with water this semi solid, then u push it through the

pasta /noodle making devices u get...voila u wil get soap spagetti.

if u want the paper thin shapes, ,pour teh same base on a tray, when

almost hard use a cooki cutter ttto get shapes,,,,

Hi Dawn,

What do you mean by recipes? Can you be more specific on what you are looking

for. I have never heard of confetti being made by anyone other that a

manufacturer.

How about this:

1 lb of melt and pour soap, probably clear.

Melt this and add fragrance and color.

Pour this into a wax paper lined cookie sheet

and allow to set up. Shoud only be about 1/8 inch

thick.

At most craft stores you should be able to find

small cookie cutters. Use the cookie cutters to

cut out the small shapes.

The left over MP can be remelted and used again.

As a matter of fact, that left over MP is great

to use in a Rainbow Ice bar of soap.

Take the small shreds of the color soap and put

them in a soap mold. Spray with alcohol (just a little)

and then pour clear base over the colored.

Very cool.

Since rice paper dissolves, could you not dip the rice paper in the

glycerine soap or perhaps in a buble bath and let dry and then cut i small

shapes. that is what bath confettie looks like to me anyway. Barb
