Guest guest
HI Stacey, I usually print my labels just on either normal plain paper or a light metallic look paper, but do use a label maker design program. I then usually cover the whole page with contact plastic adhesive, the type we use to cover school books etc, this gives it a clear water resistant top cover, & then to get the adhesive on the back I use a xyron label adhesive 150 machine, seems to work ok for me. hope this hehelps. > Hi Everyone! > > I am new to this group though I've been reading all of the posts for a > few weeks now. Guest guest
I print my own on my laserjet printer and use full-sheet labels, then just cut them out. I have different size labels so this works best for me instead of trying to format the sheet to fit stock peel-off labels. On plastic bags I just slap them on. On my bottles, I put them on and then Mod-Podge over them to give them a glossy look. > > > Hi Everyone! > > > > I am new to this group though I've been reading all of the posts for > a > > few weeks now. Guest guest
Hello, Where does one get vinyl waterproof labels? And are there other ways to make labels waterproof? Thanks, Jay too2bizymom@... wrote: you can of course buy vinyl waterproof labels, but I spray my labels with clear coat.
Guest guest
> , > How many labels will a glue refill make? > > Lucinda Hi Lucinda, The 150 xyron " create a sticker " usually takes a refill cartridge of about 20 ft in length. You can get bigger ones that will do other shapes as well. If you had a look at ebay , just under the heading of xyron, there is usually some for sale. You may be able to pick up a good deal. I find that with the 150 I can run a number of labels off at once, then can store them till needed, as there is like a peel of plastic coating on the top, somehow the xyron makes the back adhesive, only when you peel off the top plastic. so what i do is print off my design to a full page, cover with adhesive contact plastic, cut them to size, then run through the xyron. Does this make sense? > Glenbrook Farms Herbs and Such > Bulk Herbs, Spices, Teas, Essential oils > www.glenbrookfarm.com/herbs > Re: Do Your Print Your Own Product Labels? > > HI Stacey, > > I usually print my labels just on either normal plain paper or a light > metallic look paper, but do use a label maker design program. Guest guest
do a google search for vinyl or waterproof labels, you will get a ton of stuff, I don't wanna post any links here.. like others mentioned you can use that mod podge paste, or clear coat spray.. the clear coat spray works fine enough for me..I spray before I apply them to bottles . Guest guest
Hi Kim, Yes, it will stick to just about any surface, but I have found with my shower gel boston bottles that you will need to make sure that the surface is really clean, I usually just wipe down the bottle with a small bit of alcohol, the same stuff you use when getting rid of air bubbles in your melt & pour, or when layering, then just stick on the label. I have had so many friends say to me how professional they look, and are amazed when I say how I do them. It is quite easy and not as expensive as going the whole graphic design way when you are just starting out, as I am, and if you want to change anything it doesnt cost the world. It's been a very interesting road of research & development. lol.
