Guest guest
Alice, I have both kinds of molds, and have used them for CP and candles( no hotter than 160 or so) I am not sure what you mean by clamshell, but I have used the clear and blue 2 piece molds. Guest guest
OK, sorry for the cross post for those whom are on other lists with me. I hope to get some great tips and yes/no's on this question. I have many molds that are individual and cavity molds. Alot are a heavy clear plastic (cannot say for sure if all are soap molds) and some are blue plastic (which seems a lighter plastic then the clear ones)! I also have some rectangle " pour and go " clamshells that I bought when I first was thinking of soaping. The lady whom I bought them from did M & P in them, but since she did not do CP, she could not say if they were safe or not. I am wondering, can we use these plastic molds for CP soaps? If so, is here a best way to do it? Or a best recipe to use? I would like to make some " decorative " soaps for my little one (she gets diaper rash alot) and also for others. The ONLY time I used these decorative molds was for HP (crockpot method) that I did, and they worked great for that. ANY and ALL help would be SO greatly appreciated! Thanks. If you wish, you can answer me offlist at alicez@... Alice in SD
Guest guest
I don't know what other people's experience is, but I've had a heck of a time getting CP soap out of clear plastic molds made for M & P (the kind sold at 's). Now I use those molds for lotion bars. -Corrina CP and individual molds question > > OK, sorry for the cross post for those whom are on other lists with me. Guest guest
Put them in the freezer for a while. It works, but be careful, they crack easy. It also shortens the life of the molds. R.
