I would say I am between a 2 and 4.

I have CP as well as RSD. I also have severe muscle dystrophy. I can not

run, play any sport, walk very long, and such. I have had 5 surgeries to clean

things up. I was introduced to RSD after the second. Each one the RSD got

worse. I have been in PT around 10 times. Before all the surgeries and

therapies

I had synovium shots. Since I have a Protonics brace by Empi. I wear it all

the time but when I sleep. The OS, all three that I have seen. Say this is

the best thing for me. I have a extremely hard time doing stairs, I can only

drive for around 30 minutes at a time, before swelling sets in, and I have a

TENS unit for pain. Which was also a good idea per the OS's and the Pain

Management group.

I'm confused by the knee rating system. For example, what's the

difference between 6, 7, and 8? Sounds very ambiguous to me.

Good question Don.

I assume that it is just a matter od gree of limitations. I would say a 6

is more limiting then " some limitations " and 8 is hardly any limitations at

all.

It's all a matter of personal preference. I was hoping there was a more

scientific rating system. There is an extensive list of questions on the

" non modified " version, but there are no instructions on how to calculate a

rating.

Yes, I found the " original " rating system and it was very detailed. On

this " modified " system, I'm anywhere from 6-8.

still recuperating from a lateral release and " clean

out " , so my activities are fairly limited. There

appears to be some improvement, so hopefully I " ll be

I would say I am a 2

I cant walk or sit for a long period of time, hard to drive for a

long period too, stairs are horrible...the only thing that doesnt

bother me is laying in bed with my legs out straight.
