Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, I would be very grateful if some of you can take some action with this issue -The GDC has not confirmed yet any futures dates for ORE part 2; rumour has it that there will be only 1 exam this year and according to a phone call I made today, they won't know if the exam will be in November or December. Of course, this are excellent news for those who just passed ORE 1 in April but for those like me, who have been waiting for a year or even more it is not funny at all! There must be around 500 people waiting to get a place in the next exam available with only 100 people available that will go in less than 10 mins. Those who have been waiting longer and have no access to Internet during that day would be simply excluding of having a chance this year... All I want - from those who may be interested, is to write an email or contact the GDC team to beg them to go back to the old system of waiting list. Even if there is an exam or not this year we can at least feel save if the places are given according to a waiting list. The new system is completely unfair for everyone.. Please find below the contact details of the GDC. If they change the system again EVERYONE will benefit from it! Kind regards, Contact the exams team The exams team office hours are from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. We are not open during UK national holidays. Guest guest
Hi everybody:I have already passed the exams but I totally agree with , you must think that if you are together and move as a team you might have some positive results.( Nothing can be worst than doing nothing!!!)I am really sorry for everything you have been through but it is high time you let the GDC know that this new system has been worse than the old one and bear in mind that everyone sooner or later will suffer the same situation as people who has being waiting for almost a year if this booking system does not change.Sorry to give my opinion but I believe you all have to fight for what you believe is not fair!!!wishing you the best of luck!!!Gaby> dentaljournalclub ; > From: erikamorenorojas@...> Date: Wed, 20 Jul 2011 11:17:55 +0100> Subject: ORE2 WORRYING SITUATION> > Dear Colleagues,> > I would be very grateful if some of you can take some action with this issue > -The GDC has not confirmed yet any futures dates for ORE part 2; rumour has it > that there will be only 1 exam this year and according to a phone call I made > today, they won't know if the exam will be in November or December.> > Of course, this are excellent news for those who just passed ORE 1 in April but > for those like me, who have been waiting for a year or even more it is not funny > at all!> > There must be around 500 people waiting to get a place in the next exam > available with only 100 people available that will go in less than 10 mins.> Those who have been waiting longer and have no access to Internet during that > day would be simply excluding of having a chance this year...> > All I want - from those who may be interested, is to write an email or contact > the GDC team to beg them to go back to the old system of waiting list. Guest guest
Hi Colleagues,It is a worrying situation for all of us I agree but there is no point panicking and getting upset. It will only stress us out. I spoke to the GDC just now and they say please do not heed to any rumours like there would be only one exam this year. They have no comments whatsoever on the dates or the no of exams to be conducted. They are still negotiating the contract for exams centre.I understand it is very frustrating for all those who have been waiting longer but that doesnt mean people who have given part 1 in april are at ease. Everyone has so much at stake. There are so many whose visas are due to expire, others with health concerns and countless other personal tensions.I doubt the GDC will change its ways for any such concerns. Please try and stay calm and try not to stress out. Please do not heed to any rumours they will only cause panic.Regards,Shweta
Guest guest
Dear Shweta, I agree with you in terms of trying not to panic. However, there are no rumours -I call everyday to the GDC and they always come with something different, latest thing is that is unlikely an exam in October and that there will be only one exam this year , this has been repeated to me and to my friends in many occasions by GDC staff. Also, bear in mind that those who are sitting in August and pass will be added to the group of people waiting. My whole point is to persuade the GDC to go back to the old system independently of the exam date writting an email to them expressing our concern. i understand that they won't change their ways but we don't loose anything trying.
