Hi again all ... :)

Do any of you find an oil residue when you package your sachets? I really

want to get this down right, but am now having problems with the packaging

feeling tacky or sticky after a while. If people put these things in their

drawers, I don't want them to come back complaining that they leave a stain.

I went on a " seek-out " and " look " mission over the weekend and found a lot of

nicely packaged sachets in some boutiques. Most of them were in paper

envelopes. I bought one just to take apart and the contents sure look like the

corn

cob mixture we are using.

Also, I tried putting some of my fragranced corn cob mixture in pretty

envelopes that hide the mixture, but within an hour or two there were oil drops

on

the envelopes. I tried putting the mixture in little cloth bundles and still

got the tacky feeling. I now have a tray under a fan trying to dry it out

more. Hopefully it will keep its scent.

Does anyone here use paper envelopes? If so, what kind of paper do you use?

How long do you dry your mixture before packaging?

Such a lot of fuss over something so little and simple as a sachet ... LOL.

TIA

What is your process when you make them? I might be able to advice you a bit

better if I knew. Also do you use a oil base FO or Water base FO?

Hi Shere'

Thanks for offering to help.

My process is: mix the corn cob and FO in a glass jar. Then I let it

mellow for a couple of days and will shake the jar whenever I pass it. (Very

scientific ... LOL) I package everything about a day or two before I do a show

or

want to use them. I have one that I did in leather FO that I spread out on

a pan and placed under a fan. Room smells wonderful and it is retaining the

scent, but I also put some in an envelope and the little spots appearing. The

FOs are oil based.

I have never used corn cobs for scenting but I use vermiculite from the

gardening center and it works well and so far I have had no problem with oil

spots but actually I have neverr eally paid a lot of attention because I

make them for family and friends and not for sale. You might want to try the

vermiculite so see if it will absorb the oils better. Barb
