Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My friend has asked me if I could make her a cellulite/varicose vein cream or lotion. I've done some research on the net and there is information on essential oils and cellulite, but for the most part the articles seem to be on lifestyle/exercise and diet changes. I have one book that says using liberal amounts of Calendula infused Olive oil will help, but I'm kind of sceptical. I know Calendula and Olive oil have many healing qualities but somehow I'm just not sure about using it for cellulite. Has anyone experimented with making creams, lotions or oils for cellulite with any success or is it something I should tell her I can't make. Thanks in advance for any and all help. :-) Rita
Guest guest
This is definitely a subject of debate. Here are my two cents: Cellulite is a build up of toxins from fatty food, smoking, alchohol and coffee. Men do not get it because their toxins build up in their arteries. Some people feel that cellulite is part of weight gain but that doesn't explain why some skinny people have cellulite and some overweight people do not. I think that flushing the toxins is best angle to take so increasing the intake of water and doing a 2 - 3 day fruit flush would be a great start. I also know of people that have had great success by massaging the area with an oil on a regular basis. Skin brushing is recommended but I haven't tried this myself. The essential oils I would use in a lotion would be lemon, grapefruit, and cypress. These oils are great for water retention, detoxing, and constricting veins (for the varicose veins). These oils are also safe to use. I would make it a 2% dilution. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Rita, Try a " coffee scrub " for cellulite. It's supposed to work. I just use cheap ground coffee and a variety of oils. It turns out like a sugar scrub. They say to leave it on for 10 mins. before rinsing it off. I can send you the recipe I use if you like.
