Guest guest
> Hi! > Do you shred the paper yourself or purchase it that way. And where would I > find shredded wood? > Thanks, > Angie > I find shredded wood already done at my local craft store (spotlight). Shredded wood can be found in with all the floral arrangements etc in the store, and shredded paper, can be found at any packaging company. Hope this helps, littleverity
Guest guest
I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to price my bath and body gift baskets? Could somebody tell me some recent going prices and contents? Any and all help would be great. Thanks, Candy __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Shaye I agree with you. I figure up the retail price of the items in the basket. Add the price of the basket, the filler I use, packaging, bows and ribbons, etc. PLUS about $2 more for the labor of packaging. People are buying these because they're ready to give and they don't have to do a darn thing. We do the work - not them. Why would I want to put all the money and TIME into a basket and sell it for less than I could sell the items individually? That doesn't make sense. Gift Baskets , speaking of gift baskets. I tried to do some this year. In the past I havnt done too many and I have a question. My hubby and I have had this arguement about pricing them: He says it should be only what the contents are worth less a little bit cuz they are buying multiple items. I think it should be what the contents are worth, the basket is worth plus a few bucks because it it already packaged up and ready to give as a gift. How do you the rest of you figure the pricing??? Also do you have a shrink wrap system to use? I tried taping a piece around and shrinking it but it easily comes apart and dosnt look very good. Maybe that will be a good goal for new equipment in 2002. Thanks , I appreciate the help! Guest guest
I have been making gift baskets recently myself. I didn't really know how to get started, either, so I just dove in and learned as I went long, basically. Try to think about who you are marketing/selling this basket to. For women, I add pretty little journals that I got for $1 each at Dollar General. For someone who wanted teacher's baskets, I bought little calendar books especially for teachers. For my Father's Day baskets, I'm going to put in some packages of Oreos, some crackers, some summer sausages and cheese and a 4-pack of batteries for the remote control. Just try to add little personal touches like that. I add in either a net scrubbie or some kind of loofah. Always make sure your items are sitting " high " enough in the basket. (I use excelsior.) For a finishing touch, I sprinkle my baskets with tiny rose petals. And since I've gotten so addicted to the rose petals dipped in soap, I decorate my baskets with a few of those. A friend of mine also gave me a wonderful idea last night. For people who may not have used some of the products yet (salt scrubs as opposed to bath salts and things like that) she suggested little note cards tied with a pretty ribbon explaining what all of the products are used for. Just my little suggestions! gift baskets Hi, I am working on gift baskets. I was wondering if you all had " How To " sights. Thanks Sharon Mote, Craftmaster and Proprietor The Fru Fru Cottage Handcrafted Soaps, Candles and Unique Sundries. " IF you love something set it free.... IF It comes back to you it is yours... HOWEVER... If it sits on your couch, eats your food messes up your stuff and does not know you set it free... You either married it, committed to it or gave birth to it. Now the only question IS " what were you thinking? "
Guest guest
I just wanted to once again thank everyone for sharing their encouragement and suggestions about the gift baskets. I decided to go with a chrome basket lined with non-woven tissue (looks and feels like fabric) wrapped in tulle and topped with a silk rose and ribbons to match the rose in my logo. Everything in the baskets will be packaged in organza bags with hang tags. I did find that the best prices for baskets (so far ... LOL) is Buhi Imports (http://www.buhiimports.com/). They have a huge selection and rock-bottom prices. The best thing is that I placed my order late one evening and received it the next afternoon, but only paid a nominal shipping fee. Works for me!! Best Buy Floral Supply (www.bestbuyfloral.com) and Nashville Wraps (www.nashvillewraps.com) also proved to have great prices and selection. (Oh how I wish I could find EVERYTHING in ONE place!) Fabric.com and PaperMart.com also had really good prices and selections, but I was able to find cheaper alternatives elsewhere. In the midst of all of this, it suddenly and horrifically occurred to me that there are only ... are you ready for this? ... 171 Days 'Til Christmas!!!!!!!!!! J Have fun and enjoy the sun!!! pamela
Guest guest
Hi , when I started out, no one wanted to spend on the individual items, so I made a gift basket, which of course offered 3 4 items, but at a lower cost. I must have sold 1000s in this year alone!!! so u have to price it such that if the customer buys everythg individually, it would cost him much more.... thatw ay he will be tempted to invest in the basket. if u email me privately I will send u pics of my baskets.... nat > Hi, > > I am in the process of getting my business set up and am wondering > about gift baskets.
