I can think of lots of things we might put in lotions that may be considered

toxic and certainly aren't what we would produce naturally.... borax leaps to

mind, the MDSS warnings for boric acid and borax are greater than those for

the parabens.

Parabens are legal for use as a food preservative and are GRAS. There is no

" scientific research " proving it to be carcinogenic or even toxic.

The following is taken direct from the MDSS for the parabens, which of course

I can give you the link if you would like to verify the information...

Propyl paraben Uses : Food preservative, fungicide, mould control in sausage

casings.

Metyhl paraben Uses: Food additive (preservative), antimicrobial agent.

Do you scrutinize your food sources as thoroughly as your body care sources?

..Here is a little information I found on an MDSS for a product most of us ingest

regularly.....

Swallowed - Toxic. Large doses may produce palpitation, excitement,

insomina, dizziness, headache and vomiting.

Eye - Causes irritation, redness and pain.

Skin - Causes irritation to skin. Symptoms include redness, itching and pain.

Inhaled - Inhalation of dust may irritate the mucous membranes and

respiratory tract. High concentrations may produce effects paralleling

ingestion.

Can you guess this highly toxic and irritating chemical that is being discussed?

COFFEE!!

That I can't give you because I don't know it and haven't read it, and it is

probably in japanese, but I can cite the source that states that urea is not

alllowed in lotions - just so you know I'm not blowing smoke. It is a site that

discusses import regulations into Japan, what is and is not allowed, as well as

other considerations when it comes to cosmetics such as labelling etc.

I do not know the ASD rates in Japan, but I do know that Japan now has the lowest neo-natal (first 24 hours) and infant (first year) mortality in the industrialized world. The rates for US neonatal and inant mortality on the other hand, are the highest in the industrialized world, except for Latvia. The US also spends the most per infant and has the highest rate of pediatricians per infant. It was all over the news a few months ago, and the exuses varied. For example, in Orange County, CA, experts from the CDC attributed the high infant mortality rates to old moms and multiple births. In the South it was lack of health care for blacks and in New York, they blamed the Puerto Ricans. They could not explain it for Topeka, Kansas however, and regardless of income or geographic location, the US had the highest mortality rate in the industrialzed world. Interesting, I can dig it out, but the mortality for US women between the ages of 55 and 75 has been steadily increasing since 1980 (it is even in an IRS regulation), for the first time ever. The mortality for men in the same age group descreased over the same period (since about 1980), primarily due to higher survival rates for heart disease. Now I wonder what could have had this impact on US women in that age group -- I wonder what the flu shot uptake rates have been over that time period and who the largest consumers are of mercury containing flu shots? The numbers will go down, but will not be eliminated until they change the very nature of the protocol. The Japanese have figured this out and they have addressed it with a changed protocol. They let people decide to take the risks with the vaccines, but generally don't administer vaccines to those under 2. Does anyone know the autism rate in Japan since the changed protocol? I think they changed it in the early 1990's. RE: Braxton Upset With Doctors Over Son's Autism Are you serious??? She is one of my long time favorite singers ever. I have every cd she’s done!!!!!!!!!! I know about the mortality information- it obviously again makes much of what we do to those under 2 in the United States appear downright barbaric.

But I haven't seen the data on the rate of autism in Japan.

Does anyone have the official numbers?
