Guest guest
Hey guys - I have got a lot of requests for a lot of the teaching supplies (PowerPoint's) I use for education (mass casualty stuff, photos of Iraq etc). Only problem is that the files are MASSIVE Anyone know if I could post them all to a website? I am not so hot to be able to put something like that together but you guys were really fast and efficient with the website for jobs and stuff - making the website, finding out how to do it.I have no idea Well, if we had a site where I could upload a lot of stuff to, it may help our CME/CE etc as well as just knowledge in general Any ideas? Guest guest
, There is a website called http://www.yousendit.com/ that allows you to send large files. Once uploaded to you send it, the website then sends a mail to the recipient giving them a link to download the file. Another option would be to use you send it and mail it to me and I can upload it to the files section... Rgs Ian Mass Casualty Presentation I would like one, also? Guest guest
I'm sure you thought of it already, but you could try to upload them to the files area of the group. Other places would be any of the major filesharing sites like Rapidshare.de (now Rapidshare.com). You can upload anything up to 100MB and then post a download link to the group--though unless you have a premium account things will expire after 30 days without a download, I think. Guest guest
A lot of the guys on this site have practised medicine offshore, civvy street and in the military and can formulate an opinion. I have the utmost respect for nurses in A & E and think they do a fantastic job however doing that job whilst under fire, injured and your life is in danger is a little different. A Saturday night in the A & E dealing with lairy drunkards doesn't come close. Maybe you should join the TA and volunteer for a tour of duty in Afghanistan then people on this site might find your comments more credible, take care From: hippy.nurse@... Guest guest
Ladies & Gentlemen of Remote medics I have for many years been a member of this group and have always been proud to be a member. However I have many friends that are medics in the forces and in civilian life but I have to say the if Hippy Nurse has an ounce of respect and humanity that this person should print a formal apology for what they put on the site and for hippy nurse to have a long hard look and themselves to see not only what type of person they are but also if they would have had the courage to do what that amazing person did. I do not mean to offend anyone but really guys think about yourself and what your actions would be before you start criticising other brave peoples actions. Guest guest
Ladies and Gentlemen of the List,  For me, I think that any further postings by Hippy-Nurse will be a waste of my time. No matter what else he (she?) says I will most likely discount it as useless based on the resent post. Let' not play into his hands but simply ignore him......as you see fit of course.  More to the point, I have often thought of how many people in the emergency services, not just medics, must have risen above the " normal " expectations of their jobs to do things not only with bravery but special compassion or extraordinary skill. I suspect many on this list may be among those people but as a matter of a life lived in our profession, simply carry on without praise or public honors.  The public and our non-medical coworkers already have high expectations of us. As demonstrated by some discussions on this list medics themselves may have the most rigorous expectations of fellow medics.  So, when the public (much less other medics) do recognize extraordinary performance in the face of great danger, it is an compliment to our profession as well as an honor to the individual.  We all like to think or hope, that if the situation arose...at that critical moment... as it did for this particular medic, we would make the " right choices " do the " right things " , possibly against fearsome odds and with personal peril and pain. Here is one that did those things and is getting some decent recognition for it. I say good for her.  Mike  " The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits " ...A.
