Guest guest
I took this information from another group I am in. The term " drying oil " is borrowed from woodworkers. Drying oils are used by woodworkers when finishing their creations. Many oils are classed as such, including flax seed and hemp seed. Obviously, these oils are not drying to the skin, but they do leave behind a film, or finish, on wood, hence the name: when the oil dries it protects the wood. Coconut oil is termed a " semi-drying oil " , because it does not do as complete a job of protecting wood as hemp seed might. There are people who claim coconut oil *is* drying to their skin, and I am not here to refute that. I find certain oils (not coconut) drying to my skin, too, but that does not make them " drying oils.
