Guest guest
I bought some body butter from someone prior to tryung to make my own, and have been trying to copy her product and just can't seem to get it right. Her ingredients are only beeswax, macadamia nut oil and fragrance. It is not like a whipped butter at all, it is almost like vaseline only a little thicker. It also soaks into the skin a lot faster than the ones I have tried. Any and all help is greatly appreciared. thanks Charise
Guest guest
Try one part beeswax, two parts macadamia. Heat in double boiler, let it cool, see if it's what you had in mind. Add more oil if it's too hard, add more beeswax if it's too runny. Keep track of what you add. Get the consistency you want, then add fragrance, which won't change it much. What have you tried so far? need help with recipe > I bought some body butter from someone prior to tryung to make my > own, and have been trying to copy her product and just can't seem to > get it right. Guest guest
I only melt them together, let is sit for 12 hours, stir again and then pour into container. It is very easy and everyone I have sold it to, has come back for more. I even add 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of eo or fo. Even my husband loves this stuff. He says it is great for the whole body. He uses it all over, for him, though I lightly scent. Good luck. Millie jules58053 <jmkocina@...> wrote: Hi Millie, Recipe sounds wonderful! Just wondering if you just melt these together or if you have to whip and freeze, whip and freeze with your recipe.. If so how long did you whip and freeze? Also how much does this recipe make? (ex 1 - 2oz jar, etc) I am assuming you put it in a jar type container like lip gloss comes in but bigger? Thanks in advance..
Guest guest
Charise, when it's gooey like vaseline that means very little beeswax compared to balm recipes- this is more like a salve...try it with one fourth the beeswax first and see if that stiffens the macadamia enough...macadamia nut oil is an excellent choice becuase it most closely resembles human sebum... that's why its working so well for you when you put it on ;o) HTH Willow ---.
