Yo Gretchen,

I think we've done about all we can do now. Here is where I think we're at.

How does this sound?:

1) We've scheduled a backpacking trip for CMTers to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe on

June 9-11. We'll travel on June 9 and hike on the 10th-11th.

2) We'll meet the night of June 9 for a BBQ/picnic to meet each other and go

over gear. I'll take care of finding a place to do this. We'll all bring our own

food/drinks and stuff to eat with.

3) The backcountry office is still fairly busy. I'll contact them in October and

see if we can get a special use permit to camp nearer a road. If not, we'll head

to Lake Tahoe.

4) You'll take care of a monthly reminder in case someone else wants to join

along the way.

5) Right now these people (5) have expressed interest:

Gretchen

Fred

Peasel's (sp?) although the date is not good.

6) In March/April, I'll put out some gear lists and start adressing our

equipment needs. We can do this fairly inexpensively by borrowing and renting

gear.

Some questions:

1) It is my preference to make this a " CMT only " trip. I'd like us to lean on

each other. Is this OK with you? I'm pliable about this.

2) Some people from other CMT groups might want to join us. Do you want to keep

this just in the group or open it up to other groups? I have no opinion

about this and will do whatever you want.

Lastly, I'm very impressed by the level of knowledge of CMT and CMT resource

that is in this group. I've been amazed at your ability to address some rather

specific questions/issues with resources/articles/personal knowledge. You've

done a good job building a group. I'm proud to be a part of it.

Keep walking,
